Mondays are not cool, minus the fact that The Bachelor is on, of course . Usually they are the days when I really wish I was on vacation. Since I am not at the beach or anywhere warm(you know, I would even take some place cold, just as long as I was not here in Logan) I did the next best thing; looked at old pics from when I was on vacation. Is this good or bad? Well, not sure. It made me happy until I realized I was not in Mexico or on a Cruise. Hmm..anyway it brings back good memories. At the airport waaaaaayyy too early in the morning. I believe we had to wake up around 3:30 in the morning to make our flight to San Diego.
A portion of the our ship, the Carnival Elation. This was right before we boarded.
Beautiful, lovely, warm, fabulous, I love it here...San Diego. I have been a few times and cannot even wait to go back. What a great city.
Right after boarding but before we set sail. That night the Cowboys were playing the Eagles on Monday Night Football and Jared was concerned he was going to miss the game. However, there was a sports bar that had it playing and we made lots of drunken Cowboy friends. Good times! We got weird looks when we ordered Pepsi.
Where we spent the majority of our time...the pool. Well, there and the ice cream buffet.

On formal night at dinner
This was not in the dining room, I swear. I believe we were waiting for a show to start.
CABO!!!!!
The mall in CABO!!! Us being soooooo hot and sweaty. Mucho humidity going on!
The outside of the mall....ya, I know, it's got nothin' on the Cache Valley Mall....ha ha!
Our ship from Cabo. We had to take little fairies or water taxi's or something into Cabo cuz the ship is too large to port there.
Relaxing on the beach in Cabo. Lover's Island is in the distance.
More Cabo, I love it there!
A towel monkey....
The dance party on deck one night. Good thing I'm so good at taking pictures....
On the bus in Ensenada. On our way to La Bufadora.
mmm.....yes please!!
La Bufadora. It's a geyser. You can actually do a shore excursion where you canoe up to the geyser and watch it explode. We didn't do that though, obviously.
The dancing, mostly naked Indian at La Bufadora. It's way cool here, there are all these little shops and restaraunts along the way to the geyser. Real awesome!
Mexican Flag
Leaving Ensenada
Looking down from outside the ship
Looking down from inside the ship
The pool again
Sunset on the ocean...how romantic

Back in San Diego, the airport to be exact. Just trying to figure out what to do for 6 hours until our flight back to SLC.
Ah, good idea! Seaport Village.

Whoa tall building!!! Downtown San Diego.
Plane ride home...Jared is sleepy

Cannot even wait until we get the opportunity to go on another Cruise. I'm thinking next time Hawaii!!
We hit a deer. With our car. The damage is minimal, but still. It put a little dent in our hood, one on the side panel thingie, broke our passenger side headlight, but most importantly it broke off the shiny silver thing on the front grill. MAN!!It just kind of stinks because we only got that car in September, so it still feels new to us. I took some pics but you really can't see the damage so no need to post them. Plus, the deer hair stuck to our car was sick. But the grossest part was how the deer's leg went flying off and slammed into the windshield. Nasty! I thought it was our windshield wiper so thanks Jared for correcting me.Stupid deer standing in the middle of the road...why do they do that? The nerve, running into my new car...And just for the sake of the story, Jared admitted that if I would have been driving we would not have hit the deer. That is his way of admitting I'm a more cautious driver than him, because he would never actually say those words.
It started way back in Texas. I was on the phone with my sister Melissa, aka Kid, and talking about how we wanted to try somewhere new for lunch. She made this fabulous suggestion and our lives have not been the same since. I firmly believe that it was not by chance that Logan got their very own Jimmy John's just months after our return to Utah. It was meant to be.
To steal a line from a sign in their restaurant,Your mouth isn't watering, It's crying for Jimmy John's
Well folks, the time has come once again.
My husband will pretty much not exist again until May.
But if you are optimistic(and I like to say that I am) you will think of it this way...At this time next year Jared will be starting his last semester!!!!!!
How amazing will that be? . Being absolutely busy and not seeing each other is almost our entire marrriage. I cannot even comprehend what it will be like to have him go to work during the day and be able to spend all night with him. It will be weird...maybe I will even get sick of him.
I feel like life right now is just one big countdown to graduation...hopefully this semester flies by!!!!
3 Semesters to go!!!
And you are welcome for getting the Back to School song in your head.
Happy New Year!!!!! This year we were with the Jeppsen's for New Year's Eve. We, of course, ate way too much food and played lots of games. Then at midnight we went outside and lit fireworks. Jared getting some of Amberlee's amazing bean dip...he was excited for it.
You might ask yourself, what would make New Year's even better than it already is? Well, the answer is 2010 glasses!!! Amy got this fabulous idea to make some for everyone. And boy, were they a hit!!! Some people very much appreciated the glasses and wore them throughout the night,(Amberlee, Amy, myself, and Chloe) however, some people were not very appreciative of the hard work that had been put into them....I won't name names(but it was the men). Don't we look sooooo awesome?!!?
Have you ever tried playing spoons with 2010 glasses on? I challenge you to do so.
Jared lighting a firework
All of us standing outside freezing
There is something so refreshing about a New Year. It is always crazy for me to think of where we will be at this time next year and what changes will come about. If you would have told me at the beginning of 2009 that we would have done what we did and been where we are now, I would have called you silly. Crazy how things work out, huh? We lived in 4 different places, had a few different jobs, said goodbye to some people we didn't want to say goodbye to, been through our ups and downs, and have some amazing memories...it was a good year. But the time has come to say, so long 2009.....Hello 2010.
