Happy President's DAY!!!!

Jared didn't have school today and I decided, "hey, I'm the boss and I want today off as well."
So I took the day off, too.
After lunch we were a little bored and decided to go make a snowman. Jared didn't want to(broken hand and all) but after we came up with our concept I think he was quite excited.
BOO-YA!
That's right!
It's a Kobe snowman!
Notice his twig arms shooting the basketball. I love it!! We spent a lot of time on it and are quite proud.
For Jared, I will say,
"MVP! MVP!"

Not to gloat or anything but my 'blocking the shot' pic is way better/believable than Jared's...just sayin'.
And then a little pre-snowman fun thanks to my lovely, entertaining husband.

...Celebrate Good Times...

This weekend we had a little getaway to Logan for a night. It was such fun!
First, we went to Hamilton's for dinner(um...why do we not go here more often?) The food was spectacular!
2 words..coconut shrimp...
Yes please!
We quite enjoyed it.
After that we went to Ellen Eccles Theater to see Brian Regan. Ok so I know he is funny...but I have never laughed so hard in my entire life! When we left I was sweating because I had just spent the laugh 90 minutes laughing/wheezing/kackling. The poor lady sitting next to me...
He is hilarious and I'm pretty sure I could spend a good portion of my day watching him on Youtube.
(I tried to get the sign when it was saying Brian Regan but obviously I missed it)
Before the show.
I didn't take any during the performance because I didn't want to be annoying to other people.
Then that night we stayed at the new Marriott hotel and it was so nice! We loved it and our room had a fireplace. I don't know what it is about that but I insist on turning it on, whether or not it is cold.
Needless to say we had such a good time getting away and just spoiling ourselves a little. Good belated Valentine's!

Kind of Valentine's

So Monday was Valentine's(one of my favorite holidays) and we had a nice night. We didn't really do a whole lot, just stayed home, made The Soup. ..which was delish, and watched a movie. Very quiet but nice. We enjoyed it. And technically we are celebrating this weekend by going to Brian Regan(woot!) and staying the night in Logan. I cannot even wait! I have been excited about this for months..
Oh, and Jared sent me flowers at work...kind of. See, apparently he had ordered them online but since the flower shop was so busy that day they were a little late and I had actually left work and they still hadn't come. I figured something was up when I was about to walk out the door and Jared texted me asking if I had gotten anything at work. I said no and he had to call the flower shop and go pick them up. He was pretty bummed that his suprise didn't work but I didn't care. It's the thought that counts right? I love me some flowers anytime! Plus, I had a really horrible day at work so getting flowers always helps.
What can I say? He knows how to cheer me up and I just love him to pieces.
Happy Valentine's Day!!

Roll With The Punches....?

Guess what Jared and I did for 3 1/2 hours tonight?
Sat in Doctor's offices.
Why?

So Wednesday night Jared had a City League Basketball game.
Great.
He and his brother play together and they have a game every week. He absolutely loves to play basketball and I love to go watch him.
One critical piece of info though...Jared is EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY competetive. I think this may be shocking to some who don't know him very well because he is so mild mannered. However, once you play a game with/against him, you will understand his competiveness.
He HATES to lose!
Also, when he plays basketball he is super hard on himself. If he turns the ball over or makes a silly foul he has a hard time forgetting about it.
Anyway, back to my story.
So Wednesday night he is playing and they just happened to be playing a super good team that was not missing any shots(which is naturally a frustrating situation). Poor Jared just happened to miss an open lay-up and then just happened to get mad at himself and just happened to punch the little padded wall underneath the basket and just happened to fracture his hand. He insisted it was not broken(so this is my, "I told you so!" moment) and thought he would wake up this morning with a perfectly healed hand.
Well, that didn't happen.

So this is how our night was spent... And this is how Jared's next 6 weeks will be spent.
No basketball.
No Black Ops.
He can hardly write and type so doing his schoolwork will be fun.
Simple tasks like washing his hair and driving a car are no longer simple.
The technical term is a Boxers Fracture, which sounds cooler than it actually is. Apparently it was a pretty severe fracture so he was sent to an Orthopedic Surgeon. He had to get a couple shots to numb his hand and the Doc had to move his bones back into place and then cast it.
Jared is miserable.
He is already sick of his cast and it has only been about 4 hours.
This may be a long 6 weeks...for the both of us.

(P.S. I stole my title from Matt...it was too clever not to use)

It's Super!!!

I love the Super Bowl. Even though I usually don't really like either team playing, I just like the whole "party" thing and eating lots of delicious food. This year we had our party at Matt and Amy's house. A good time was had by all, mostly because the Steelers DID NOT win. But I guess sitting around watching football and stuffing your faces with the most unhealthy food always make for a good time. Good job Packers!
Isn't that festive?
MMMMM....

Apparently I Like Hockey

Last night we went to the USU Hockey game vs BYU. It was such a fun time! We had never gone to one before(well I had one time with Ambo and Jerembo back in the day when they were dating and I remembered it was fun). Our original plan was to go to the basketball game but it was sold out. We had such a good time though. Hockey is really fun to watch when its live. It's so fast paced and entertaining. Plus, USU is really good and completely dominated the game. I think the final score was 8-0.
Go AGGIES!!
I had to take a picture of the cool truck that made the ice shiny in between periods.
My only complaint is that I was freezing the whole time. Next time I will take a blanlet.
