I Just Feel Like Being Outside...

Today we went on our very first four-wheeler ride of the season. I know, right? That is crazy that it took so long! Life just gets kind of busy and we had nothing planned today and the weather was great so we went. It was more than fabulous! I kind of love it. I am convinced there is no better smell in the world than the smell of the mountain air. It just made me so happy.

If you look closely you can see the deer that we saw. She was running away too fast..

It's so beautiful. We went up to Willard Basin and there wasn't too much snow suprisingly. I love summertime. It's happy! Also, now I am craving a camping trip stat!

It's My Birthday and I'll Cry If I Want To...

Wednesday was my 26th birthday. I never thought I would say this, but I don't like my birthday lately. I love having a day to take off of work and I kind of enjoy presents, but I am NOT a fan of being 26. I feel old.
I know, I know, 26 is not old and I should enjoy my 20's, yada, yada, yada...I don't care. I feel old and I don't like it. Everyone at work is like, 21 or 23. See, I'm old. All my friends my age have a kid or two or three. I have none and that probably won't change anytime soon. I have like a billion years left of school and I still don't feel like going back. This is a problem.

I guess I just thought that at 26 I would be a lot more accomplished. Maybe that is what makes me sad about my age. However, I do have a really, really great life thanks to a more than wonderful husband and an amazing family. Also, before I start feeling to about sad about being 26, people always think I am 21 so that makes me feel really happy!

I just had to rant about feeling old.
Just be prepared for me to have a nervous breakdown when I turn 30.

Oh, so for my birthday Jared and I both took the day off. Originally we weren't going to because he told me he didn't have enough leave from work because he had to use so much for the Cruise. Then he took last Friday off to go golfing and I said, "Think again about this whole not taking my birthday off thing." So naturally he found out he did have a little bit of time to take off of work. Amazing, right?  It's baffling to me how when golf is involved there isn't any doubt about taking off work...

Anyway,  we went to SLC and did a little shopping mixed in with some Cheesecake Factory. That made my day. It had been so long since I had been and it was even better than I remembered.
So it was a good day.
Minus the turning 26 part...

Let's Go To The Zoo...

Last Saturday we spent the day at Hogle Zoo with my family. It was such a fun time! I personally love the Zoo and hadn't been there since Jared and I were engaged, so it's been a while and I was ready to go back.

You gotta have a picture by the big elephant.
They loved when the elephant blew water on them.
Lazy Gorilla.

The Polar Bear was my favorite. He was totally performing for the crowd!

Lucas just hung out in the stroller all day, except every 5 seconds when grandma was holding him...I think she was more interested in Luke than the animals. I understand, he is pretty cute!

Afterwardds we had some dinner slash lunch at Chuck-A-Rama. I was starving therefore too busy to take a photo.
We had such a fun time, though! We are glad we finally went!

Last Weekend...

Friday night we went on a date. It was nice because we hadn't been on one in a while. Our original plan was dinner and a movie. We were going to go see The Avengers but I have a tendency to change my mind as the night goes on and we ended up doing something completely different. Basically every time we are planning on going to a movie, Jared asks if I want to go buy the tickets before dinner and I always say, "no, what if after dinner a movie doesn't sound like fun"?
I think I have committment issues.
So Mini Golf it was. I just wanted to be outside because the weather was so nice.
Of course Jared beat me by a ton.
 Irrelevant.

Saturday night we rode up to Devil's Creek Resevoir where mom and Doug were camped with Doug's family. We had dinner with them and just visited. It was a great time. the food was delish as usual and we enjoyed the camp fire. Every year we wish we would stay all weekend and I think next year we night actually do it.

Hey look! Jared knows how to work that bad boy...
Doug likes fishing.

Camp firing it up. I love camp fires almost as much as I love corn on the cob and four-wheeler rides.
(aka, the best things about summertime)
S'mores inside a snickerdoodle cookie instead of a graham cracker. Awesomeness!
Mom, this picture is really blurry. Next time I am having Doug take it...

We are so glad we went. Doug's family is so very nice and hilarious, we really ourselves.  Even if it is camping in the gravel pit...

...You Make My Speakers Go Boom Boom...

Happy Early Birthday to ME!
I actually got it over a week ago, thanks to Guitar Center's amazing Memorial Day Sale.
See, for a while now I have been making slight comments about how I miss my Fender Strat and how rad it was. It's just so much fun to play an electric and I was craving it.
When I saw the sale, Jared agreed it could be for my birthday and that I couldn't play it until then. Obviously, he was too strict on that rule(we had to make sure it worked right, right?).

Isn't she pretty?

Also, my life is now complete....
