Leaving In A Green Car...

My friends, the time has come. It is the end of April and Jared and I leave for Texas on Thursday. It's very strange. We are excited/scared/nervous/curious....all at the same time. We weren't going to leave until Friday but Jared is able to take his last final on Thursday instead of Friday so we will be leaving as soon as he is done. What have we been up to the last few weeks? Packing, packing, and uh, some more packing....Bye house, we will miss you.We have had the opportunity to spend a lot more time with our families though since we have been off of work. We have enjoyed playing games, going to watch Aubrey play soccer, going to Matt and Amy's house to watch Kobe and the Lakers, going out to lunch with my mom and Doug, the four-wheeler rides, going to Provo to see Che' and Anger and especially little Ruthie, and all the good times we have had with our friends and family.
SO here is a funny picture. While in Provo my car got hit in a parking lot. Hit and Run apparently. Those crazy Utah county folk. And there is Anger pointing it out incase you can't see it.

Here is Aubrey at her soccer game. She was amazing!

More soccer game pictures....

The other day we went on a four-wheeler ride with Matt and Amy and it was so much fun. I was so mad that I forgot my camera. So you will just have to imagine the great pictures of Jared and Matt scaring us and almost getting stuck in the mud.

We would just like to thank everyone who helped us move and for all of their support. We really appreciate all of you. And a special thanks to Jared's parents for letting us crash at their house for a couple of days until we leave and for letting us keep all of our stuff there for the summer. We will miss everyone so much and we love you all!!! Wish us luck...

Easter Weekend

We had a fun Easter weekend. On Saturday we went to Mantua for their Easter picnic and then later we went to the in-laws and played games and celebrated Jared's dad's birthday. Then on Sunday we went to my mom and Doug's and had another picnic and an Easter egg hunt with all the kids.
Grandma and Blake
The kids jumping on the tramp
We don't look like we are posing, do we?
Little Blake carrrying his bucket that is bigger than he is
In Jared's Easter basket I put in Jazz tickets so on Monday night we went to Salt Lake to watch the game against the Clippers. As you can see, we are clear up in the nose-bleeds but it was still fun. And hey, the Jazz actually won!!

Texas, HERE WE COME!!

If you don't already know, Jared and I are moving to Texas for the summer. Jared has decided to sell security systems with APX and this summer and they are going to Dallas. We kind of just decided about a month ago when we learned about the lay off and figured this comes at a really good time. Plus, Jared can't take any classes since he is into the professional Engineering program and they don't offer summer classes. So, off to Texas we go. If we are successful then we can put Jared through school for his last 4 semesters without him needing to work, therefore graduating faster. And let's be honest...that is what we really want.

We are excited and nervous all at the same time. We know that Jared will be working very hard 6 days a week in the hot Texas sun and we might not see eachother too often. But hey, we are used to that. But we also know that it will be a great experience for us to get out and see some of the world. It will be fun to live somewhere other than Utah and be on our own for a little bit. However, if anyone wants to come visit you are more than welcome. So what will I be doing? Well, hopefully I will find a job at the mall or something. If not, we do have an amazing pool at our apartment and there are plenty of sights for me to see. Don't worry...our GPS navigation system should be here by Friday so I can learn all I need to know in advance. We are going to be very good friends by the end of the summer.

Hopefully we have some great adventures to share with you. You know we will be going to see the new Cowboys stadium...I bet Jared doesn't make it a week before we have to. Amy has given me lots of good advice on what to do and what we need to see. (thanks by the way). So my next task is talking Jared into going to Six Flags....he just loves roller coasters....ha ha!! But we are excited and hopefully we get to do lots of fun things. We will leave the first-ish of May and then come back in August. We will miss you all and we love you!

ZOOM ZOOM

Yes! The spring weather is making me oh, sooo happy! Today was amazing, wasn't it? Anyway, Monday went up to Mantua for FHE, so Jared and I decided to head up Willard Peak for a quick four-wheeler ride before. Such fun. Although it was a little cool when we went faster and not too far up we hit a bunch of snow. Jared thinks it is funny to try and pretend that we are stuck because I freak out and apparently it's funny or something. He likes to tease me and I'm gullible. It's not my fault though, every time we go on a ride in the snow we do get stuck and we have to dig ourselves out. But we had fun. Can't wait for more sunny days and happy four-wheeling.

Getting Me Ready

Today I had the opportunity to babysit my nephew, Austin. This is funny to me because I have no idea how to entertain him. I don't have any kid toys or movies or anything at my house and I'm sure he was so bored. He is only 3 and so he needs to be entertained, you know? I was kind of nervous about it. I babysat him one time last summer and I thought I was being such a cool aunt because I took him to Willow Park to see the animals and play on the swings and stuff. A kid would love that right? Well, after about 3 minutes of walking through the animals he turned to me and said, "I wanna go home.." I was pulling out my A-game there and it got me nowhere...so now you understand why I was nervous.

We watched movies (a lot of them), we colored pictures of The Incredibles, Jared attempted to read him a book, we had a good time. Everything turned out ok and he may have even snuggled with me for a few minutes during Toy Story 2. My mom called me to see how everything was going and mentioned that it was, "good practice" for me. I then informed her that when I had a baby it would not pop out as a 3 year old and I would have time to prepare for that age. But I would say Austin and I are pretty good buds now. Although he kept calling me "peanut." I don't know if I should be flattered or offended...I'll choose to be flattered.

Things Are Slow

We have been kind of boring lately, so this is kind of a random post. If you didn't know already Jared was laid off on Tuesday...but it's ok because he volunteered for it and we knew it was coming. It is a good thing. This way he can go to school full-time and get done done much faster. The days of Jared not having school and homework all the time would be wonderful and we are excited for that day to come. So this is a step we must take...but other than that we have been kind of boring.

So I just thought I would post on how wonderful The Fray are. If you haven't listened, you should. Piano makes everything better and they know that. I am loving them right now and cannot get enough. Thanks Kid for hooking me up with the new stuff...awesome, awesome, awesome!!! And in honor of them being incredible, that is all you're gonna hear on my playlist. I put on there some of my faves. But don't worry I go through obsessive phases like this all the time with my music. This too, shall pass.
