Our Easter

Easter was a good celebration.

On Saturday we had two parties to attend so we were super busy.
First was our party with Jared's family. Usually we gather at Grandpa Halling's house but the weather was supposed to be cold so it was changed to the church. But then, turns out it was kinda warm so we had it outside the church. It was quite nice! We had hot dogs of course, then an Easter Egg Hunt/Go Find Your Egg On the Lawn

(Which I love by the way! I'm not a fan of having to look for anything).

Getting the bags ready for the Candy Hunt

Then all the kids go find candy on the lawn.
Jared helped Cooper
(I think Jared was being a little bit of the Candy Hunt Nazi slash Spaz. Cooper just kinda followed him around slightly confused.)
Then off to our second party at my mom's house. Another Easter Egg Hunt.

There's my mom and sisters. I really wanted to post the one where Kid is laughing hysterically but she threatened me...and apparently I'm afraid of her because that picture is not on here.

(Still on my memory card though and that's what matters!)

Blake playing a board game with himself and his Manpris. Just thought it was cute.
It was a really great Easter and we love when we get to spend time with our families. They're fabulous!

Also, we are like 99.6% sure Jared has the job with Hill Air Force Base. Nothing is "Official" yet, but he has had like 5 interviews with supervisors in different departments. A few of the supervisors have called him and told him how bad they want him to work for them. Basically, he just needs to decide who to work for and then wait for them to make it official. It's kinda a slow process out there. He has a couple different options, one is to work on the displays in the F-16s, one is to work on the firing controls on the missels, and I can't remember the rest. He is really excited for it though. I'm glad he majored in something he actually enjoys and gets excited to work with. Oh, and I'm glad there is such a high demand for Electrical Engineers right now...

This whole thing just makes us really excited. We can't wait to get back on our own feet again. We hate not being independent and feeling like mooches. We are so grateful for Richard and Susan letting us stay here and always being willing to help out. We are so lucky to have them and cannot thank them enough! But we are excited to start our life again. It's like we finally get to move on with that next phase in our life and we are looking forward to what the future holds.

The Countdown Begins

I have had quite the haitus lately. No explanation for it, other than we have no exciting news to talk about. I really wish I did, but not yet. Basically life lately has been preparing for Jared's graduation. He has been studying lots and I have been getting everything ready for his party. Ya, we're having a small party for family after his graduation. He insisted that we did not need to throw a party(you know Jared, never wanting the attention) but I have had plans for this for several years now. Plus, I wear the pants so there is nothing he could say about it!

Jared is trying his best to get over his major case of Senioritis and we both have been counting down for the last 2 months. I think every day we say, "Is it May 7th yet?"

ONLY 3 WEEKS TO GO!!!!

One piece of hopefully good news is that Jared had an interview with Hill Air Force Base for an Engineering position last Wednesday. Jared had been in contact with a guy from HAFB for a couple of months now(we will call him Jim) and last week he sent Jared's resume around to a bunch of the supervisors. Monday morning he received a call from one of the supervisors(we will call him Mark) asking for an interview. Jared said it went really well and Mark seemed interested. Mark also emailed Jim telling him how impressed he was of Jared.

So basically, add that to the waiting list!. We are sooooooo hoping for a phone call from HAFB with a job offer. Jared has always wanted to work there and we both feel really good about this opportunity. It would be close to home and that would be great. We really don't want to move far away.

Jared before his interview looking all handsome.

Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we have some exciting news to post about in relation to a new job.

Stay tuned!!!

BTW:

Happy April 16th EVERYONE!
