I Like That...

The other day(and by that I mean, probably like 2 weeks ago) I was talking to Amy about how I didn't have anything awesome to update the blog with....and to be honest with you that always makes me a little sad. So she gave me this fabulous idea and I'm gonna give it a whirl.

Green Thumb

Today my thumb turned green.

Here's how it all started:

A couple of years ago Jared and I were given a planter made from wood from Jared's grandpa's shed or something. I can't remeber what it is from but it's super cute and I have just never done anything with it. It just sits there. I am not the gardening type and I have never planted flowers. I have thought many times before I should go buy some flowers and plant some. But I just assumed I would mess them up and they would die. I honestly have no knowledge of these things...I know what roses look like and that's about it.

So today my mom and Doug came over to Logan. They are big into gardening and Doug always grows lots of veggies during the summer. So we were walking through the gardening section at Walmart and I thought to myself, "Self, you should buy some flowers and put them in that planter out on the balcony." Then I answered self and thought, "Yep, I should."
So I did. I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT IT!!!!
I even know what kind of flowers are in there...pansies and marigolds...BAM!
I can't even wait to have a house with a garden and lots of flowers. I was asking my mom and Doug all kinds of questions about flowers and planting them and all that jazz. I am pretty sure I will be asking my mother-in-law, Susan, about it too because she knows her stuff. Get ready for me to be awesome at planting things and not killing them!

Next step: Topsy Turvy Tomato Planter for the balcony...you heard.

Golfin'

Last Saturday we went mini golfing with my family. First we stopped at Willow Park for a picnic and the kids(and grandpa Doug) had some sword fights.
Then off to golf...I too, would like to know what Ambo is doing in this picture. Hmm....she looks like she got a catch in her get-along.

Jared beat all of us. I guess I wasn't cheating hard enough...

After that we went to Charlie's for some ice cream and Aubrey ate the largest ice cream cone I have ever seen. She impressed us all.

My Thoughts, Feelings, and Concerns

I realize we are down to the Final 7 on American Idol and I haven't even mentioned the show. So uncharacteristic of me. I have very passionate feelings on things that have happened the last few weeks and I am now going to share them.
The judges are dumb. I cannot even believe they used their 1 save of the season on Big Mike....WASTE! Sorry Mike fans, but I can't stand him! I feel as though I don't understand the hype surrounding him. Aren't the judges always stressing being, "different" and "unique"? Well, correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't Big Mike pretty much sound like Ruben Studdard and every other artist like that? I'm just sayin...the judges are hypocrites and they are dumb. And because of all this...Andrew had to go home. He was too awesome to be leaving so early. Oh how I was wishing Mike would have been sent home Wednesday night...just to show the judges that the rest of America thought it was a terrible decision. Here is my tribute to Andrew...Incredible!

Since Andrew is gone I pretty much only love Lee. Lee is awesome! I like some of the other contestants, but I don't LOVE them all the time. Lee is consistently awesome. GO LEE!!!!

Easter Plus Conference Equals Fabulous

I love Conference weekend. Probably because I get to watch church in my pajamas if I want to. Which I did this morning and it was more than great. This weekend was even better though because it was Easter and though it was freezing and snowy...we had a good weekend.

Since Friday was Good Friday, Jared had the night off of work and we went to Mantua and watched the kids color Easter Eggs. I didn't take my camera but it was fun. Plus, the Jazz and Lakers played. After the eggs were all colored we went to Matt and Amy's so we could watch the game. And by "we" I mean Jared and Matt. But hey, I hear the Lakers won so that is nice.

On Saturday we had the annual Easter party with Jared's family. We went to the church and ate and the kids had some easter activities. Then we went back to his parent's house and played some Easter Bingo. That's right! It was awesome! I lost everytime. Chloe was the first one to get Bingo...good job Chloe! And good job looking cute while winning. Here is what Jared did with his M&Ms after each game....he was being weird. I think it was all the Mt. Dew he had consumed earlier in the day.
After that party we headed to Tremonton for my family's party. We are major party animals. Here are the kids after their Easter Egg Hunt. You know what is really hard? To get 4 kids to look at the camera at the same time... Yay! I was freezing!
Later we played Uno...it was good times. Especially because Ambo was being silly and that always makes for an interesting time.
It has been a great weekend. Happy Easter!
