I don't know if you know this, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE to decorate the Christmas Tree. I seriously look forward to it all year long! It very well may be my favorite thing about this time of year.
I have such happy memories of being a kid and decorating the tree. We always went in the afternoon on the day after Thanksgiving and cut down our tree at Eggli's Tree Farm. Then we'd go home, crank the Christmas music and decorate the house. My dad would get the tree in the stand and put the lights on it and the rest was up to the girls to finish. Ahhh, it makes me happy to think about those days. Reba's Christmas Cd playing(which is why I know every second of that cd and me and my sisters can recite the entire Christmas Guest poem...in the exact voice that Reba does it), and just being home and cozy with the people you love most. So yes, I love decorating the tree!
Since this year is a little different and we couldn't have our traditional decorating of the tree/house, I had to go elsewhere to get my fix. Our 3 foot tiny tree just didn't do it for me, so we went to my mom's to help her with her tree. And by "we" I mean "I". Jared shovelled her driveway so I guess that was a good enough excuse. For some odd odd reason Jared is kind of a Grinch when it comes to the Holidays. It's very strange because we are complete opposites in that respect. He told me this year, "everytime you listen to a Christmas song before Thanksgiving, a kitten dies." In all honesty, I don't care too much for kittens so this didn't change anything. Plus, I have no proof of any kitten deaths.
Anyway, back to the point. I helped my mom decorate her tree this year. I have done it for a few years now and I quite enjoy it. So thanks mom and Doug!
Straightening the tree skirt.....
Hanging the last of the ornaments....

It's beautiful! Look at you and your decorating skills. I have A. Lott of comments. a) Good job on putting "If I Die Young" on your playlist. LOVE it! b) I want to hear you, ambo, and kid recite a poem like Reba. I feel it would bring much happiness to my face. c) You don't care about killing kittens?!?!?! Gasp! d)Is it weird that I pictured Jared sneaking around peoples houses and stealing/ruining their Christmas? (you know how the grinch like crawls around. I pictured it like that) e) Mrs. Petersen. ha ha. f) Doug. g) You have happy Christmas memories. h)are you surprised I've stuck to comments that are relevant to this post? i) am j) Should I get into crock pot-ting? It looks perfect! Great job! I'm glad you have such good memories of Christmas as a little kid. I'll have you know I blared not only your Lone Star christmas CD yesterday, but also your Wynona one.... haha. I'm so awesome. I love you and I miss you! Let's get together before I split into two separate people!
